The North African state of Libya has suffered from war, crises and natural disasters in recent years. This has affected people’s health care situation significantly. The German-Libyan Society in Bonn now supports the local people with two high-quality esumedics® EEG systems.
Esumedics Enables EEG Diagnostics in Libya
Up to now, patients with neurological diseases had to travel long distances to receive adequate treatment. The German-Libyan Society from Bonn is investing in two lightweight, high-performance esumedics® EEG systems. These can be used flexibly and will improve medical care on site in the future. The project is led by the Libyan-German pediatrician Dr. med. Hosain Elkarkani, who is committing himself to and volunteering for the people of his homeland.
The esumedics EEG systems are very modern, but also small and handy, so we can examine the patients on site in Libya. The EEG data can be easily exported and sent to Germany or anywhere in the world for evaluation. This is a great advantage for us, as we can help so many people. The Esumedics GmbH team consists of very qualified employees who have given us excellent support in all areas. Together we were able to configure devices that were ideally suited to our purposes. Both, the training in Germany and the remote support during my trip to Libya went smoothly and very uncomplicated. The employees in Libya were able to benefit from many valuable tips for working with the devices. I can really recommend working with Esumedics GmbH.

EEG Recording According to the Latest Standards
In July, our two esumedics® EEGs traveled to Darna, a port city in northeastern Libya, after comprehensive training with Dr. Elkarkani in Germany. The first part of the travel program belonged to a training session on the user-friendly, modern laptop systems. The employees on site were comprehensively instructed and trained in the relevant recording methods both by Dr. Elkarkani and remotely by the esumedics team. Dr. Elkarkani also organized multi-day events in several Libyan cities, which were very well received. With the esumedics® EEG systems, patients of all ages can be efficiently examined and treated in Libya in the future.
