In October, Esumedics GmbH supported a highly sought-after training course offered by the German “Professional Association for Employees in the Neurophysiological-Technological Field of Work” (FNTA) in Bayreuth, Germany. The workshop was practice-oriented and included numerous exercises on one of our user-friendly esumedics® EMG systems.

The FNTA has made it its mission to regularly organize high-quality training events for members and non-members throughout Germany. On October 19, a one-day seminar on the subject of neurography of the upper and lower extremities was held at the MediClin Reha Center in Bayreuth, Germany. The Nerve conduction study course offered 50 technicians and employees from neurophysiological fields intensive training opportunities. In addition to correct electrode positioning and choosing the right recording method, the event schedule also included valuable tips on how to avoid disruptive artifacts.

One-Day Workshop from Basics to Practical Application

The speaker of the FNTA training, Mr. Frank Böhme (MT-F), welcomed the participants at around 8:45 a.m. in the inviting rooms. The course started with some basic work and theory. Device settings and pitfalls during the ENG measurement were also considered. After a short break in the morning, the practical part started.

First, various measurements on the upper extremities were dealt with, until the lower extremities could be addressed after the lunch break. Our colleague, Mr. Benjamin Weißflog, supported Mr. Böhme and the participants with practical tips on the esumedics EMG. The corresponding settings and work steps were clearly shown on two screens for all those willing to learn, so that everyone could easily follow the valuable recommendations and the appropriate procedure.

The afternoon concluded with some live presentations of measurement methods and neurographs, which the participants were able to choose.

The MediClin rehabilitation center in Bayreuth offered organizers and guests ideal learning conditions. The spacious and friendly rooms created a pleasant environment.
