From Theory to Confident Recordings with esumedics
On December 13, 2025, the course “Muscle and Nerve Sonography and Electrophysiology with Brain Parenchyma Sonography and Injection” took place in Erfurt, Germany. A small group of physicians attended the course, which was led by well-known instructors, and focused on practice, offering ideal conditions for intensive professional development.

Building Confidence Through Solid Knowledge
As in the previous year, the Erfurt EMG course began with a compact theoretical session. Participants explored the fundamentals of peripheral neurosonography, brain parenchyma sonography, and electrophysiological diagnostics in a hands-on, practical format. This was followed by extensive applied training using the esumedics EMG system, allowing participants to practice the full range of clinically relevant procedures and strengthen their skills.
Prof. Dr. med. Carl D. Reimers (Niels-Stensen Hospital Osnabrück), Prof. Dr. med. Marek Jauss (Helios Hospital Uelzen), and Michael Kiszka (host) guided participants through the comprehensive program in an engaging and clear manner.

Practicing Complex Procedures in Small Groups
Participants had the opportunity to perform intensive exercises in small groups. Motor nerve conduction studies included the median, ulnar, radial, and peroneal nerves, covering F-waves and Inching. Sensory nerve studies involved the median, ulnar, radial, peroneal (superficial and deep), sural, and saphenous nerves. The program also included blink reflex recordings and assessment of sympathetic skin responses at hands and feet. Throughout the exercises, the esumedics EMG system provided consistently excellent signals and reliable performance.

Efficient and Reliable Electrophysiology with esumedics
Carsten Klaus, Head of Aftersales & Service at esumedics, accompanied the course and supported participants with practical tips at the device. All measurements were performed using the 4-channel esumedics EMG system, demonstrating stable workflows, high signal quality, and intuitive operation. Even complex recordings and extended practice sessions were completed smoothly.
Prof. Dr. med. Carl D. Reimers praised the precision and signal strength of the devices. The system enabled realistic exercises and supported participants in applying the methods learned directly to clinical practice.
The Erfurt course demonstrated how applied training, experienced instructors, and modern medical technology work seamlessly together. Participants expanded their knowledge in theory and practice, explored new procedures, and gained confidence in rarely applied techniques. The course also offered valuable opportunities for professional exchange and discussion of complex cases.
esumedics thanks all course leaders and participants for their engagement and interest in our Made-in-Germany EMG systems. We are already looking forward to the next edition of the course in 2026.
